
HELP
(Help in Emergencies and Long-term
Planning) is a partnership with
local churches, providing food,
financial assistance, and long-term
planning to persons in need. The
program is designed to give emergency
assistance and to follow up that
assistance with help in securing
resources to reach stability.
Getting
Assistance
The Food
Pantry is open from 9:00
A.M. to 12:00 P.M., Tuesday through
Thursday. No appointment is necessary,
but it is recommended that you
call prior to coming.
Financial Assistance is provided
after a client meets with
a volunteer. Appointments
are required and can be scheduled
by calling 804-285-5986 at the following times:
- Monday and Thursday: 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
- Tuesday: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Volunteers Needed
Commonwealth Catholic Charities needs volunteers immediately to help with the following activities:
- Emergency food pantry – stocking food and preparing groceries for clients in need.
- Assisting clients in need of financial assistance.
- Assisting clients in need of housing assistance.
- Administrative assistance – answering calls for our HELP program and helping out with data entry (very simple!).
Volunteer hours are flexible and training is provided.

The CCC Food Pantry always welcomes food donations! You or your organization might consider coordinating a food drive.
