CCC’s Independent Living Program helps youth from foster care become self-sufficient as they reach adulthood. Youth live on their own and receive support which includes assistance with housing, employment, education, finances, and mentorship.Â
Â
Edwin and Norma are just two of the many young people who have come through our programÂ
Â
Edwin, nineteen years old, is from Guatemala. He attended Goochland high school where he worked hard to make it to graduation this past June. Edwin now works at a Mexican family restaurant while exploring his options at community colleges and trade schools.Â
Â
Norma, twenty years old, is from Honduras and is full of optimism and determination. She is a full-time nursing student and works part-time. She dreams of becoming a doctor one day, but for now she is preparing to pass her exam to become a certified medical assistant. Â
