Rug of Gratitude

In the fall of 2021, the Ishan family fled Afghanistan to seek safety in the United States.  CCC met them at the airport and supported them in rebuilding their lives in Virginia through employment, English classes, medical care and education.

Nearly three years later, the family honored CCC with a unique gift of gratitude.  Saedullah, the father, asked his family still in Afghanistan to handmake a special rug with the CCC logo, which they shipped to Saedullah to present to CCC.

“We are filled with joy to know the Ishan family feels grateful for the services CCC has provided over the years,” said Refugee and Immigration Services Director, Kristen Larcher.  “We are deeply humbled by this beautiful gift and hope their family remains safe in Afghanistan.”
