We have watched the events of this past week with deep sadness.
The murder of George Floyd and countless others put a painful spotlight on the cruel reality of systemic racism that too many members of our community must face every day. The complete disregard for human life and dignity that is inherent in racist violence is incompatible with the values of our organization. Racism and prejudice tear apart the fabric of our communities, even if so many of our systems and institutions are stained by them. We reject violence as a just response to violence; however, CCC stands in solidarity with every person who peacefully confronts institutional racism and prejudice.
