In most cases, foster care is a temporary solution to provide safety, shelter, and care for a child in an unsafe situation.
CCC is a private foster care provider with the following types of foster care and foster care services.
Treatment Foster Care
Norton, VA | Roanoke, VA | Richmond, VA
Treatment Foster Care (also known as Therapeutic Foster Care) is a specialized foster care program that provides an extra level of support and resources for children and adolescents with complex emotional and behavioral needs, often the result of past trauma. CCC’s treatment foster care (TFC) program provides specialized training and support to foster families. The program emphasizes maintaining a positive, nurturing, and therapeutic family environment, combined with active and structured treatment to support the needs of the child. A safe, stable, and supportive home environment combined with consistent therapeutic services helps children develop healthy coping skills, improves overall mental health, reduces problem behaviors, and helps children reach their full potential.
URM Program
Richmond, VA
CCC provides Unaccompanied Refugee Minor (URM) foster care to refugee children who have been separated from their parents or guardians while fleeing their homes because of war, persecution, or other dangerous living situations. The unaccompanied refugee minor program is administered through the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement, which states that, “The URM program serves some of the most vulnerable minors in the world.” After their arrival in the United States, children and teens are placed in a foster home where they are supported and cared for as they adjust to their new lives in the U.S.
