Nathan & Marjorie

“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.”
― J. M. Barrie, Peter Pan
A letter to the birth parents
Dear parent(s),
Our names are Nathan and Marjorie, and we’re grateful for the chance to share a little about who we are. We know you’re taking time to thoughtfully consider what’s best for your child, and we appreciate being part of that process.
The two of us met while working at a summer camp in 2018, became friends first, and slowly fell in love. Since we started dating in 2020, we’ve felt called that adoption would be the method by which we grew our family, and we’re thankful to now be at a place where that feels real.
We both enjoy the outdoors and traveling, but just as much, we love slow evenings at home with our two pets—a cat named Casper and a dog named Ariadne. Creativity plays a big role in our lives. Nathan sketches and builds video games; Marjorie writes, cross-stitches, and bakes. We look forward to creating a home where curiosity and imagination are encouraged and celebrated.
Nathan works as a software engineer developing web applications. He values the flexibility his work provides and the way it allows him to be present for family life.
Marjorie recently took a break from work to focus on developing a ministry for teen girls at our church but has rejoined the workforce as an administrator and marketing strategist for a small wealth management firm. She loves that this has her doing something new every day.
Our faith and church community are central to our lives. We are surrounded by friends and family who show up for one another in practical, steady ways, and we’re grateful that a child in our family would grow up supported by that kind of community.
More than anything, we want you to know that we respect the weight of the decision you’re making. We care deeply about the well-being of your child and about honoring the role you will always have in their story. If we were chosen, we would approach that responsibility with humility, openness, and care.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. Whatever you decide, we hope you feel supported and at peace as you move forward.
Warmly,
Nathan and Marjorie

Nathan
Software Engineer & Multimedia Artist
First and foremost, Nathan is a disciple of Jesus. Second, he is a doting husband and loving owner to our dog and cat. Finally, he is whatever else he wants to be with the time he has remaining. Outside of work, he often has new hobby or project—pixel art, banjo playing, perfecting his lemonade recipe—occupying his mind. He looks forward to sharing the skills he’s picked up and his love for building with a little one.
Marjorie
Marketing Professional & Lover of Beauty
Marjorie is deeply dedicated to whatever she does. When she loves somebody, she loves them fully, and she shows it often with thoughtful gifts and creative plans. When she starts a project, she sees it through until she creates something beautiful, whether it’s mastering a new recipe, picking up a new craft, or starting a ministry at our church. Everything she does she does passionately, and she can’t wait to share that love and devotion with a child.
Our Community
We live in a quickly developing county outside of a college town, so we have options for all sorts of activities: outdoor activities, art, history, music, and food! There’s something for everyone, and there’s certainly more than we could ever experience ourselves—try as we might.
The house we live in was Marjorie’s grandfather’s, and it still serves as the default venue for family get-togethers and holidays. It has a large yard where our dog loves to run off-leash. We grow herbs and wildflowers in the spring, and in the summer we harvest wild raspberries and blackberries for baking.
When we’re not home, we’re usually at church or trying something new with friends from church. It’s been such a blessing to have the support of that community and our family as we prepare our home for a family.

“Since Nathan left college and married Marjorie, I have seen them grow and become stronger together than they were apart… I am so excited for them to have a child.”
– Zac, Nathan’s childhood friend
"Marre and Nathan are incredibly family oriented. They have much love to share with a child who joins our family, and I am thrilled with the idea of becoming a grandma!"
– Kitty, Marjorie’s mom
“As they pursue adoption, I believe they are doing so with purpose, care, and a desire to love a life that needs loving.”
– Josh, mutual friend
