Lauren & Matthew

Picture our perfect day - it's a crisp autumn day. We head to our favorite coffee shop in the morning. We run some fun errands, maybe walk around an antique store. We come home and relax. We get Chinese takeout for dinner, followed by a piece of cake.
A letter to the birth parents
Hey there!
It is lovely to meet you through this screen. You probably never thought you would be in this position. If we’re being honest, neither did we. God prepared our hearts and minds to become adoptive parents during five years of infertility.
We met in 2012 and got married in 2018. We live in the Richmond area with our sweet senior dog, Belle. We enjoy cooking at home, exploring restaurants, traveling, and spending time with our large, yet tight-knit family. We are so honored that you would consider us to parent your birth child. Please know that we have chosen parenthood through adoption wholeheartedly, despite every mountain we have climbed to get there. Trials and heartbreak may have led us to this moment; however, that doesn’t have to be where the story ends. We look forward to a beautiful life raising your birth child and a relationship with you that is comfortable and fulfilling to you. Thanks for stopping by.
All the best,
Lauren and Matthew
Get to know...
Lauren
I was born and raised in south New Jersey. I moved to Virginia in 2008 when I attended UVA (go hoos!). I am quiet and somewhat shy. My mind is always moving and I enjoy learning new things. I am a silly goose and find humor in almost everything.
I watch a lot of TV. Some of my favorite shows that I can watch over and over again are Seinfeld, Mad Men, and Golden Girls. Reality TV shows on TLC are a guilty pleasure of mine. If I’m reading, it’s probably a historical romance novel or a memoir.
Spaghetti has been my favorite food my whole life. I like all kinds of music from all different decades. I am a sucker for a good handbag, a bold lipstick, and giraffes.
Matthew
I was born and raised in central Virginia. I value thoughtfulness, kindness, and joy. I like to describe myself the same way, but with a heavy sprinkle of calm and light-heartedness. I try not to let the moment get too big, and I believe that comes directly from my faith in God. I really value family, both by blood and by choice.
The perfect day would include a grill, family, and an Eagles victory (goBirds!). I’m a sucker for lasagna or anything sweet. If you listen closely, you’re sure to hear a reference from The Wire at some point. Stringer Bell was the worst.
Our Community
We live in the Richmond area. We bought our house in 2019 with the vision of bringing our babies home there. We live in a quiet neighborhood that is centrally located. We have a senior beagle chihuahua mix named Belle. We adopted her over a decade ago. Her perfect day includes plenty of naps, pets, and treats. Matthew's parents and sister live in the area and we often spend time together. We also enjoy hanging out with Matthew's cousins, most of which have young children. Lauren comes from a family of six - her parents, two older sisters and a younger brother. Her family lives across a few states. Lauren and Matthew have seven nephews and two nieces on Lauren’s side.
