Kevin & Sarah

Welcome! ❤️ We’re a loving family of four, blessed by the life we’re building and excited to grow our family through adoption!

Our hearts are open, our home is ready, and we can’t wait to welcome another precious child to join us!

A letter to the birth parents

Dearest Birth Parent(s),

We are incredibly grateful that you are taking the time to learn about our family. We can only imagine how much thought, love, and courage goes into a decision like this, and we have the utmost respect for you and the love you have for your child.

We are Kevin and Sarah, blessed with two little boys, George and Charlie. They are our greatest blessings and have filled our hearts in ways we never imagined. Becoming parents has been the most beautiful part of our lives, and we feel a deep desire to open our hearts and home to one more precious child. We have so much more love to give another little one.

Our boys are so excited to have a baby sibling. We can already picture them loving, protecting, and teaching their little brother or sister. George even prays for a baby brother or sister at bedtime every night! Our home is filled with laughter, hugs, family dinners, bedtime stories, adventures, and so much love.

Adoption became part of our story after an unexpected and challenging season. When Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer during her pregnancy with Charlie, there were many unknowns about the future of our family. Sarah and Charlie are now healthy and strong. That season deepened our faith and perspective on what matters most and led us to prayerfully consider adoption. We truly feel called to adoption and believe it is a beautiful way to grow our family.

Family means everything to us. We are fortunate to have grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who are deeply involved in our lives. A child joining our family would be surrounded by people who would love them unconditionally and cheer them on through every stage of life. Most importantly, we want your child to always know they were loved by you from the very beginning. We would always speak about you with love and respect and make sure your child knows that where they came from is an important part of who they are. We would honor their story and help them understand the incredible love and courage that brought them into our family.

If you choose us, we promise to provide a safe, loving, and joyful home filled with faith, laughter, and endless support. We would feel beyond blessed to watch your child grow alongside George and Charlie and would cherish every moment.

We see adoption as an incredible privilege and responsibility and would never take your trust lightly. We are praying for you, your child, and whatever path is meant for your family. Thank you for considering us and allowing us to share a little piece of our hearts. It would be an incredible honor to welcome your child into our family and love them for a lifetime.

With love and endless gratitude,

Kevin & Sarah

From Sarah About Kevin

At our wedding, my sister, Megan, described him in her speech as “Kevin, sent from Heaven,” and that could not be more true. Kevin is our rock. He is strong, grounded, loving, smart, driven, and has the biggest heart of anyone I know.

Kevin attended public schools K-12 then graduated from Hampden-Sydney College and Campbell University School of Law. A lifelong athlete, he played tennis for Hampden-Sydney’s college team—Go Tigers! He now works hard as a criminal defense attorney and takes great pride in helping others.

Kevin is an incredibly hands-on and loving dad who is always thinking of others and asking how he can help. George and Charlie light up and run to him with open arms when he comes home from work each evening. He loves playing sports outside with the boys, reading books, cooking, history, watching football, working in the yard with George, beach trips, golf, and tennis. The boys and I especially love cheering him on at his tennis tournaments! Most of all, Kevin loves spending time with our boys. You can often find him making pancakes on a Saturday morning, followed by a trip to Home Depot with George and Charlie. But some of his favorite moments are the simple, everyday ones—like packing the boys’ snacks for school each morning. It’s in these little acts of love and care that you can see just how much being a dad means to him. We truly work as a team, sharing the joys and responsibilities of raising our family and making the most of the everyday moments together. Kev is a gift to all who know him!

From Kevin About Sarah

Sarah will tell you firsthand that her two biggest dreams growing up were to become a teacher and have a large family. She is a kindergarten teacher at heart, but being a mom is truly her greatest joy. She has a contagious smile and laugh and has a way of making everyday life feel special.

Sarah comes from an incredibly close family, and one of the things I love most about her is how she has created that same closeness within our own growing family. She loves tennis, country music, shopping, the beach, and time with family and friends—but most of all, she loves making memories with our boys. She is always planning family adventures, playdates, and special experiences. Last Christmas alone, I think she managed to take George and Charlie to see five different Santas!

Sarah spent nearly 17 years teaching kindergarten at the Catholic school she attended as a child. Today, she works there two days a week as a Title I Interventionist, giving her the perfect balance of doing what she loves and being home with our boys. She even gets to see her four nephews and niece at school, whom she loves like her own.

A lifelong Catholic school girl, Sarah attended K–12, graduated from Randolph-Macon College (where she played tennis), and earned her master’s degree from VCU.

I saw Sarah’s strength in an entirely new way when she was diagnosed with breast cancer on the same day we learned she was pregnant with Charlie. Through an incredibly difficult season, she remained strong, positive, and devoted to our family. It only confirmed what I already knew—Sarah loves fiercely and would do anything for her children. Sarah is now stronger and healthier than ever. She has so much more love to give, and I cannot wait to watch her share that same love and joy with another child as we grow our family through adoption.

Our Community

We were both born and raised in Richmond, VA and feel incredibly blessed that both of our families still live nearby. Having them close has been such a gift as we build our life and family together.

Sarah’s parents, “Koko and Daddoo,” live just minutes away, as do her sisters, Megan and Karen-Anne, their husbands, Will and Patrick, and their five children. George and Charlie are so lucky to have five cousins and we feel incredibly grateful that our boys are growing up surrounded by so much love. We help one another with school pickups and activities everyday. Megan (Will) and Karen-Anne (Patrick) are like second parents to our children, and we feel the same way about their little ones.

Sarah’s parents are the kind of grandparents every child deserves—always present, always helpful, and completely devoted to their grandchildren. “Koko and Daddoo” love being part of the boys’ everyday lives. Koko is a familiar face at their schools and among their friends. You’ll find them both at every grandchild’s game or match cheering from the sidelines, always so proud. From sporting events to sleepovers, pool days, playground trips, and University of Richmond games, they never miss a beat with their beloved grandchildren. Their home is a grandkid paradise, with a playroom and endless indoor and outdoor toys for all to enjoy. One of our most favorite family traditions is our annual Christmas gathering at their house.

We spend lots of time together in Richmond, and often take the boys to Virginia Beach for extended visits with Sarah’s family, who spend most of the summer there. With cousins ranging from one to ten years old, the children spend their days together like siblings, and the beach has become the setting for some of our most cherished family memories.

Kevin’s parents, “Mayma and Pop,” and his older brother, Brian, also live close by. Being “Mayma and Pop” brings them so much joy! The boys love growing up surrounded by family on both sides. One of our favorite summer adventures is visiting Kevin’s family land in the mountains, where the boys can run, explore, and enjoy nature. We also enjoy visiting their home in Wintergreen, VA. They love coming by to see the boys at our home in Richmond, often bringing a fun new game or activity such as balloons or bubbles! Kevin’s parents host an annual Thanksgiving lunch we look forward to every year.

We both grew up surrounded by loving families and always dreamed of creating that same kind of home for our children. We love the beach, zoo, museums, Maymont, sporting events, playdates, and cheering on their cousins at weekend games. George enjoys swimming, soccer, Little Ninjas, and tennis just like Mom and Dad, while Charlie is starting to discover his own interests through swimming and toddler art classes.

We are also fortunate to live in a neighborhood filled with young families. On most afternoons, our cul-de-sac is full of little ones riding bikes, playing hide-and-seek, running through sprinklers, and enjoying Friday night pizza parties. In the fall, we love gathering with Sarah’s siblings and their families for Sunday cookouts and football.

We feel incredibly blessed to have this kind of family and friend support, love and connection. If we are fortunate enough to welcome another child into our family, they would not simply be joining our family of four — they would be surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends who would love them deeply and cheer them on through every stage of life. It is one of the greatest gifts we could give a child: a childhood filled with family, belonging, community, and a whole lot of love. George and Charlie are loving, affectionate boys who adore being around children and family, and we know they are going to welcome another sibling with open arms.

Kevin & Sarah

Our sister was born to be a Mom. Sarah flawlessly wears the hat of aunt, sister, daughter, teacher, and friend. At their wedding, we dubbed our brother in law as, ‘Kevin sent from heaven’. He is an angel on earth. Their love for each other and their family shines brightly. What a gift for any child to be surrounded by their love.

- Megan & Karen

Lucky to have Sarah as our children’s kindergarten teacher, and honored she later chose me as their pediatrician. Their next baby will have a devoted, hardworking, leading-by-example father, and a loving, graceful, warm, generous and smart mother to ALWAYS watch over him/her AND the most adorable/loyal big brother bodyguards imaginable.

- Dr. A

Sarah and Kev are our chosen family - the warmest, most generous neighbors. Raising our children alongside their beautiful family is a privilege. They are intuitive, thoughtful, and inclusive - those qualities are reflected in their adorable boys. They were put on this earth to be parents and we’re grateful to be a part of their village.
