Kayla & Nathan

We can't wait to learn more about you, and we are excited to share with you a glimpse into our lives...
A letter to the birth parents
Hi there,
We want to begin this letter by expressing our deepest love to you, whether you choose us as parents, another person or couple, or choose to parent your child yourself.
We understand this decision is not taken lightly and is being done with the utmost love and protection for your child.
As a couple who has walked through the journey of adoption once before, we have so much respect and admiration for the decision you’re making. We acknowledge the weight of this choice and the selfless love that is going into it.
We value you and your bravery with the gift of life that you are giving your baby. In our home, we will always honor you. Your child will grow up knowing that every decision made was out of love.
If there are any special family traditions, activities, or memories that you want us to incorporate into this baby's life, we would love to honor them and make them part of their life.
Again, thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We hope to learn more about you as well. More than anything, we pray that you feel the comfort, peace, and blessings that come from our Heavenly Father.
With our love & prayers,
Kayla & Nathan

The loving mama!
Written by Nathan
Kayla is the steady heartbeat of our family—the one who brings a sense of peace, warmth, and intention into our everyday life. She has a beautiful way of making things run smoothly while still leaving room for spontaneity, laughter, and little adventures that turn into lasting memories.
In motherhood and in life, Kayla embodies both strength and gentleness. She is organized yet flexible, nurturing yet confidently guiding, always tuned in to what her family needs most in each moment. She approaches each day with purpose, curiosity, and a desire to keep growing—not just for herself, but for the people she loves.
She is a lifelong learner who pours deeply into the things that matter most: her faith, her family, her friendships, and her community. Kayla has a natural ability to make others feel seen, heard, and cared for, whether it’s through a thoughtful conversation, opening our home to others, or simply showing up when it matters most.
Our children instinctively run to her for comfort, reassurance, and guidance. She meets them with patience, understanding, and unconditional love, creating a safe place where they can be fully themselves. She celebrates their joys, walks with them through challenges, and gently helps shape who they are becoming.
Kayla has a beautiful way of noticing the little things—milestones, quiet victories, or even just a good day—and always finds a reason to celebrate them (usually with some yummy chocolate chip cookies). Because of her, our home is filled with joy, gratitude, and the reminder that even the smallest moments matter.
Her heart for motherhood is intentional and deeply rooted in love, and it’s that same love we are so excited to share and grow as we welcome another child into our family.

The Mr. Fix-It FUN dad!
Written by Kayla
Nathan is the “fun dad” in our family—the one playing outside with the kids, giving endless tickles, and turning everyday moments into opportunities to teach, build, and make things better. He brings a sense of energy and excitement into our home that naturally draws our children in.
He is also my perfect counterpart—logical, steady, and grounded in all the right ways. Where I may lead with emotion, Nathan brings clarity and perspective. Together, we balance each other in a way that creates both stability and warmth in our home. No matter what comes our way, Nathan has a unique ability to pause, reframe the situation, and lead us forward with positivity. He is always focused on how we can grow and come out stronger on the other side.
He is incredibly practical and resourceful, able to fix, build, or figure out just about anything. But more than that, he is deeply caring, protective, and intentional. He puts our family first in every situation, and I am often in awe of how calmly he navigates stress while finding thoughtful, steady solutions.
We are both actively involved in our church and love serving our community together. Faith and service are woven into our daily lives, shaping a home that is welcoming, grounded, and full of love.
Nathan’s love for our family is steady and deeply rooted. He creates a space where our children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore, learn, and grow. As we look toward growing our family, I feel such peace knowing another child will be welcomed into that same environment—one where they will be deeply loved, guided with intention, and truly at home.
Our Community
We have a 7 year old daughter, Addilyn, and a 1 year old son, Landon. Addilyn enjoys playing with her friends, reading books, and loves riding horses. She enjoys being crafty and playing the piano. Addilyn is empathetic and nurturing yet full of spunk and sass. She is the best big sister! Landon enjoys playing with his big sister and other babies and toddlers. He likes trying new foods and going on family walks. He learns new things every day, from crawling to saying new words. Landon is the chillest little dude and loves to laugh. He is going to be the best big brother!
We live in a 4-bedroom home with a large front yard and an even larger backyard. We enjoy playing on the playground and jumping on the trampoline. Our favorite place to be outside is with friends and family around the firepit roasting marshmallows to make s'mores. We also have a large garden in our backyard, several chickens, and a dog named Tux. We even have deer that have made our backyard their home.
In our community, we enjoy the gym, library, coffee shop, and nature trails weekly. Other times, we enjoy the farmer's markets, shops, holiday celebrations, and events in the area. We love spending time at the lake, watching beautiful sunsets, and attending holiday celebrations in our neighborhood.
When we are not at home, we enjoy visiting local lakes, mountains, and beaches in our area. We also take an annual vacation to the Outer Banks. Kayla has been going every year since she was a baby!
We are blessed that most of our family and friends live in Virginia and North Carolina. We enjoy traveling and both of our kids have been on airplanes because we believe nowhere is too far to enjoy making memories with friends and family!

"Kayla and Nathan were already wonderful parents to Addilyn, and it has been such a blessing adding Landon to our family. Grams and Gramps love their grands so much! We can’t wait to continue sharing that love with another grandchild!"

"Kayla has been a dear friend for over 15 years and is one of the people I trust most. She is a devoted wife to Nathan and a wonderful mother to Addilyn and Landon. I love that even though we live far apart, we always make time for our friendship through phone calls, social media, and getting our kids together whenever we can."
- Aunt Lala
"I’ve had the privilege of watching their journey from before kids to now raising two, and they handle it with so much love, patience, and intention. They are the kind of parents who are present, engaged, and genuinely enjoy their children."
