My son Parker and I are excited to grow our family. I hope that we have the opportunity to tell you all about us!

A letter to the birth parents

Hi,

I am in awe of the love and strength you have in considering an adoption plan for you baby. I want to help you give your baby the life that you dream of while also making my own dream of growing my family come true. When I imagine being a mother through adoption, the picture of my family include the birth family in a way you are comfortable with.

I want to offer my child a good education, a structure of love and certainty, room for imagination and exploration, trips near and far to learn about and enjoy the world around us, an introduction to my faith as a Christian with the hope that someday it will be a faith that we share and to lead with love in every decision I make as a parent.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little bit better. I hope in this profile you can see a glimpse of the life that I can offer your child.

God bless,

Kathy

Engineer, mom

The three greatest relationships that I have in my life are my relationship with God, my relationship with my son, Parker, and my relationship with my extended family. I strive to build everyday on a foundation of faith in God and trust in Him. I know God has good plans for me and my family.

I would describe myseld as determined, balnced, faithful and patient. I have worked hard to create a life that has love and laughter.

Our Community

Me and my son Parker live in a great neighborhood with good schools, kids riding bikes, and a lovely home. The fenced in backyard for both kids and dogs is one of the best features! Our household includes my mom, Grandma Robin, our snuggly dogs and an aquarium full of fish.

Grandma Robin is an integral part of the household and I am so blessed to have her with us. She is retired and currently takes care of Parker while I am at work. It is wonderful to have her wisdom and experience in our lives.

Another important part of our lives and community is our church. We attend and serve in an amazing church that has a strong focus on children's ministry and youth ministry. There are always lot of events and groups to help create community and grow in our knowledge and relationship with God. We even have a group dedicated to adoption and foster care that Parker and I are a part of.

One of our favorites things about where we live is that we can take so many amazing day trips. We love to spend a day at the beach, drive out to the mountains or take the train up to Washington, DC. Living in central Virginia has provided us with so many fun opportunities. We also enjoy things closer to home like local parks, the community swimming pool and the fishing pond in the neighborhood. All that said, I think that my favorite place is still the patio in my own backyard where kids and dogs can run and play.

"Kathy is a great mom. She has a very loving, kind and warm heart. She loves Parker very much. Raising children takes patience and lots of love, all of which Kathy has. Any child would be blessed to have Kathy as a mother."

- Grandma Robin

"Kathy and I have been friends for more than 10 years. She is such a caring aunt to her nephew as well as to my son. Kathy is firm & fair in her expectations for behavior and I trust her very much. As a parent, Kathy would love unconditionally and provide a happy healthy life for any child."

"Kathy is a hard worker and has great work/life balance. She is an asset to our team at work but it is clear that her family comes first, which we fully support."

Quick Facts

In addition to serving in the nursery at church, Kathy likes to nerd out on the production team helping with online church and video.

Kathy, Parker and Grandma Robin love to put together Lego sets and have been known to invite friends to join them

Parker was born in San Diego, so Kathy spent about a month out there until he was ready to come home

Some of Parker's favorite things are his stuffies, reading, swimming, any toy that transforms and playing outside.

We love to travel and try to go someplace new at least once a year. Some favorites so far have been Cape Cod and Pigeon Forge
