A letter to the birth parents

Hi there,

We want you to know how deeply honored we are to be part of this journey with you. The decision you are facing is one of immense courage, love, and strength—and we see and admire that in you. We are blessed to have the opportunity to get to know you and to walk alongside you during this chapter.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little more. Galen is a middle school PE teacher and Jenn is a grants administrator. We have been married for ten years and together for over fifteen. We always knew adoption was supposed to be part of our story, and we feel confident this is the time God has for us. We first grew our family through IVF, which gave us our daughter, Hannah. While both journeys are different, we hope our children will always know how much they are loved and how intentional we are in being their parents.

When we made the decision to adopt, our families and friends stood firmly by our side, offering love, support, and encouragement. We hope to extend that same unwavering support to you. This is a new chapter for all of us. We understand that it may come with uncertainty and emotion, but we also see beauty in your bravery. You are compassionate, unique, and incredibly strong.

Thank you again for your incredible bravery and for considering us to be a part of your child’s life. We want you to know we will love your child unconditionally. We will make sure this child knows where they come from and who they are a part of. They will always know of the love you have for them.

Galen has spent his career fostering teamwork, resilience, and a love for health in his students. His role as a mentor has shaped him into a man of immense patience and encouragement—traits that define him just as much at home as they do in the gym.

After ten years of marriage, Galen remains the steady, active heartbeat of our family. He is a hands-on father who leads by example, whether he is coaching on the field or teaching our daughter how to master a new skill in the backyard. To Galen, being a "coach" isn't just a job title; it is the way he approaches life—always ready with a high-five, a listening ear, and an unwavering commitment to helping his family thrive.

Jenn

Grants Administrator

Jenn has dedicated her career to managing programs that provide housing and essential support to those in need. Her professional background has shaped her into a natural problem-solver and a steady hand, blending a compassionate heart with the organization and precision needed to lead large-scale community initiatives.

Jenn’s greatest joy is her role as a mother. She leads her family with a nurturing spirit and a fun-loving energy that makes everyday moments special. Whether she is in the middle of a home renovation project, attempting to keep her plants alive, or working on a colorful crochet project (or three), she finds beauty in the process of building something beautiful from the ground up.

After ten years of marriage to Galen, Jenn is the creative spark and the steady organizer of the family. She leads with a nurturing spirit, ensuring their home is always a place of warmth, stability, and intentional beauty.

Our Community

We've discovered our dream home in a small town in Virginia. Galen grew up in Yorktown, while Jenn hails from Connecticut - neither of us imagined we'd settle here. We're surrounded by both family and friends. We have spent a great deal of heart and energy transforming our home into a sanctuary where everyone feels safe, cherished, and welcomed.

We first grew our family through IVF which gave us our daughter. Hannah is a kind, wildly adventurous, and loving five year old. Hannah is eager for her new role and brings a sense of joy and wonder to every day.

We are incredibly fortunate to have both sets of grandparents— Jenn’s parents Mimi and GB, and Galen’s parents Grammy and Papa—living just up the road. Jenn’s sister also lives in town and joins us every Sunday for family dinner, ensuring that family is a daily reality and cornerstone of life.

We are anchored by a close-knit group of friends who are like family to us. They have been our steadfast support system through our infertility journey and are enthusiastically awaiting the chance to welcome a new member into their hearts through adoption.

In this community, your child will be raised in an environment where the next generation is encouraged to be as close-knit as the current one, surrounded by people who march to the beat of their own drums and embrace every moment with grace.
