Dana & Chad

Our home is filled with music, creativity, and lots of laughter. Friends and family describe us as warm, intentional, and thoughtful. We can’t wait to welcome a child into the life we’ve built together: a life full of joy, exploration, community, and unconditional love.
A letter to the birth parents
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about us as you consider the best plan for you and your baby. We hope our profile gives you a glimpse into our life, our family, our community, and the kind of home we will create for a child. Most of all, we hope you feel the warmth, joy, and love that surround our family.
Adoption has always been the path we envisioned for growing our family, and it is something we have wholeheartedly chosen. On our very first date, we talked about our shared desire to become parents. Dana knew from a young age that she wanted to adopt, having grown up surrounded by people whose lives were shaped by adoption, and Chad has always been fully on board.
Our relationship is grounded in love, respect, trust, communication, kindness, and a deep commitment to the people we care about. Our home is full of music and art, laughter and curiosity, family dinners and game nights. We will create an environment where a child always feels safe, a place where they can come to us with any question or challenge, knowing they’ll always be loved and supported. We will encourage our child to become exactly who they are meant to be: the most authentic version of themselves, or what we like to call their “me-est me.”
We imagine a childhood filled with both small moments and big adventures: guitar lullabies, art projects, neighborhood playdates, holiday traditions, and family vacations. Their world will be big, and they will be surrounded by people who celebrate them, encourage their interests, and show up for all of life's important moments. More than anything, we want them to grow up knowing that they are deeply and unconditionally loved.
For us, open adoption is an opportunity for more people to love a child. If you choose to place your baby with us, we would welcome the opportunity to build a relationship with you that grows and evolves over time, finding a balance right for everyone. We will honor you and your role in their story. We promise to be open and honest with them, and to make sure they always know just how loved and wanted they have always been. We will celebrate their background, origins, and culture as important parts of who they are. We are committed to listening, learning, and incorporating new customs and traditions into our family.
We know that this is an incredibly important and deeply personal decision, and we trust that you will determine what is best for you and your baby. Whatever you decide, we hope you feel supported and confident in the path you choose. If you choose us to be the parents for your child, we would be deeply honored to love them fully and welcome them into a life full of endless possibilities.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for considering us.
With love and gratitude,
Dana & Chad

Dana
Physician Assistant (PA) & Crafter
Written By Chad
Dana makes a room feel warmer just by walking into it. She is bubbly, curious, endlessly kind, and has a gift for making people feel seen and loved. We like to joke that pink isn’t just Dana’s favorite color—it’s part of her personality: bright, bold, and full of joy.
As a Physician Assistant (PA), Dana brings that same warmth to her work in the medical field. Her path to medicine included driving an ambulance as an EMT, working with children at a nonprofit in East Africa, and traveling throughout the world during her studies. Dana approaches everyone she meets with an open heart. She has the innate ability to connect with people, build genuine trust, and naturally makes people feel at ease. She is empathetic and deeply invested in the people she cares for, in all aspects of life.
Dana is also one of the most thoughtful and creative people I know. She loves crafting and making things for the people in her life, from baby quilts to hand-embroidered gifts. Recently, she taught our young nieces how to use a sewing machine, and watching her patiently guide them through their first project was a glimpse of exactly the kind of mother she will be.
More than anything, Dana brings joy wherever she goes. She notices the little things, celebrates the people she loves, and makes ordinary moments feel special. I know she will create a home where our child feels infinitely loved, encouraged to explore their passions, and celebrated for exactly who they are.
“I have had the privilege of watching Dana grow into an extraordinary woman—one of the most loving, patient, and nurturing people I have ever known. She is the kind of person who notices when others are struggling and quietly finds a way to help. She is thoughtful, steady under pressure, and sees the good in others. I know without question that she will bring that same spirit and love to parenthood.”
— Marty, Dana’s Dad
Chad
Technology Consultant & Musician
Written by Dana
Chad has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I have ever met. He loves fully and cares deeply, and is the kind of person you are grateful to have in your corner. He is genuine, dependable and always shows up for the people he loves. Whether he’s doing a goofy dance while cooking dinner or making up songs about our dog while doing laundry, Chad brings laughter to everyday life through his wonderfully playful spirit.
Music is a huge part of who Chad is. He has been singing since he was little and has played guitar since he was 13. He wrote an original song for me that he performed at our wedding called Finally Whole, which brought more than a few people to tears.
Chad works as a technology consultant and has been with the same company for more than a decade. He loves solving problems, and brings that same practical, creative mindset to our everyday lives. Working from home gives him the flexibility to be present and take care of our home and our family.
Whether he is building a fort, doing silly voices, or being a human jungle gym, kids are naturally drawn to Chad. He gets down on their level and joins their world. He makes children know that what they have to say matters. I know he will give our child that same attention, encouragement, and room to grow. I feel incredibly lucky to share my life with him, and I can't wait to watch him become a dad.
“Chad is one of the best men I know. He is incredibly supportive, driven, and always there for whoever needs him. He would give a stranger the shirt off his back. He is the shoulder to lean on, the ear to listen, and the voice of reason. He is one of the most considerate and level-headed men I know.”

Our Community
Our Home & Neighborhood:
We live in a beautiful three-bedroom home with our 13-year-old cockapoo, Olaf. Our home is warm, colorful, and full of photos, games, and memories from our favorite adventures. Chad’s downstairs office doubles as his music room, while our upstairs guest room is also Dana’s crafting space. We have a nursery ready and waiting for when it is time to welcome the newest member of our family.
Our neighborhood is vibrant and diverse with parks, a public library, ice cream shops, and museums all within walking distance. Many of our friends nearby have young children, and we look forward to playdates at nearby playgrounds, farmers markets, and watching our children grow up together.
We love exploring new places, attending concerts and local events, and trying new things together. On our quieter days we enjoy cooking dinner together, building Lego sets, watching Jeopardy! and The Great British Baking Show, or settling in for our weekly Friday pizza and movie night.
Our People & Traditions:
Family is incredibly important to both of us. Our future child will grow up surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends who are already so excited to love them and cheer them on, right alongside us.
Dana’s sister, brother-in-law, and our two elementary-school-aged nieces live in Washington, D.C. One of the reasons we chose to live in Virginia was so our future child could grow up close enough to their cousins for regular family dinners, celebrations, and seasonal activities. Our nieces are already excited to become big cousins and we love imagining them growing up together! Dana’s parents split their time between South Carolina and Florida and visit often. Chad’s family lives outside of Atlanta, and we visit every few months for holidays, celebrations, and barbecues. His niece and nephew are in their 20s, and we love watching them grow into wonderful young adults. We are also lucky to have a close circle of friends, many with children of their own, who feel like extended family.
We love celebrating everything from birthdays to National Pizza Day. Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays, filled with good food and quality family time. We are Jewish and celebrate Hanukkah and Passover with loved ones. Dana grew up in an interfaith home - her dad is Catholic and her mom is Jewish - and we have incorporated traditions from her upbringing into our own family. We love baking holiday cookies, lighting the Hanukkah menorah, and decorating our pink Christmas tree! We believe that what matters most is raising a child with love, strong values, curiosity, and kindness.

"Uncle Chaddy is so silly and ticklish and makes me laugh. Aunt Dana does so much crafts with me. I love them so much. They will be the bestest parents because they take good care of me. And they have a sprinkler.”
— Hudson, 6yo, Niece
“I get to see first hand what it is like to have your child loved by Dana and Chad. They are patient with our girls, thoughtful about what they need, and so incredibly fun and loving. Our girls are better people for being loved by them. I can truly think of no better people to be parents - Dana and Chad are meant for this.”
— Rachel, Dana’s sister
"Dana and Chad have the maturity, stability, and emotional intelligence necessary to be outstanding parents. They understand that my three children are unique individuals, treating them with kindness, respect and encouragement. Their future child will also have an extraordinary village ready to support and celebrate them.”
— Alejandra, close friend

Our pup, Olaf, loves warm hugs, just like his namesake from “Frozen”
We love exploring local festivals with friends

Fall fun at the pumpkin patch with our nieces
Quick Facts
We love Disney movies. Our dog, Olaf, is even named after the snowman from “Frozen.”
Both sets of our parents have been happily married for over 40 years. Dana’s parents met at McDonald’s as teenagers, while Chad’s parents met when his mom auditioned to play flute for his dad’s band.
Chad has been singing since before he learned to tie his shoes. He also plays guitar and piano, and was in a pop-punk band in his early 20s.
Dana has been to every continent except Antarctica, and has traveled to more than 30 countries. Given her lifelong love of penguins, it’s her dream to visit Antarctica one day!
We love adventures—even when they don’t go according to plan. We got engaged after taking a wrong turn on a hike in the Canadian Rockies and found a beautiful, secluded viewpoint we never would have discovered otherwise.
