Chris & Bailey

We are grateful and honored that you are taking the time to get to know our family! We are excited to welcome you in!
A letter to the birth parents
To be honest, we were intimidated at the thought of fitting all of our thoughts to you into a letter. After all, what promises can we share as you consider this courageous decision? What can we say to put your heart at ease? What can we possibly write to help you trust us and know us? We’d like to start by expressing our immense admiration and heart for you. In an impossibly difficult time, which we cannot pretend to understand the depth of, you are considering granting a family with what will be their greatest blessing. We recognize that gift begins with loss, and we want you to know that in our home, you will always be honored and cherished. On holidays, on special occasions, and on every day in between, we want you to know that we’ll speak of you in admiration, in gratitude, and in love.
We promise that every day, Chris will wake up, pull on his boots, and work hard to make the life we’ve built together possible. That Bailey will treasure every slow morning spent making pancakes for breakfast and planning the day’s adventures. That laughter will be the sound heard most in our home, right next to “I love you.” That Chris will protect his family and be the reason little faces squeal in delight when they hear his truck pulling in the driveway. That Bailey will work to make every day special in ways big and small. That childhood will be treasured, and that every decision will be made with love.
If we could reach out and give you a hug right now, we would. We can’t understand the journey that has led you to this moment; we only hope to support you and to walk alongside you from this point forward. You clearly have courage, bravery, and love running so deeply in your veins that we know one day your child will show those same traits too. If chosen as the adopted parents of your child, we promise to share that message of courage, bravery, and love with them. We firmly believe their life will be beautiful, and you will always be the foundation of their incredible story.
We cannot know what you are facing right now. We can only admire you, encourage you, and promise that if chosen, we will spend our lives dedicated to making the life that you created a beautiful one. We truly thank you for considering our family. Thank you for your time, and thank you for allowing us to share our heart with you. You have our prayers today and always.

From Chris about Bailey
My wife is one of the most kind, generous, and amazing people I know. She is able to do anything that she sets her mind to, and excel at it! She is the perfect mother to Roman and the perfect wife to me! She takes care of both of us with such care, love, and grace. I would describe her personality as grounded, kind, and loving. She is so special in that she can pick up a new skill with such ease and does things for our family that she knows we enjoy; things like making sourdough treats and wonderful smelling candles and soaps. Life would not be the same without Bailey in it. She has a vision for our family, and works so incredibly hard every single day to make incremental progress towards that goal. I have never met somebody who embodies the love and spirit of being a mother like my wife does. She is ALWAYS focused on providing love and care to Roman. He is such an amazing little boy and I know that it is, without a doubt, because of the love, kindness, and joy she shows him as his mother. Her parenting is full of kindness, love, patience, and grace. I love catching glimpses of her being a wonderful mother to Roman when she doesn’t think anybody is looking. Seeing such love and grace for our family, at all times, is truly a blessing.
Christopher
General Surgeon
From Bailey about Chris
There are so many things that I admire about Chris, but his strong work ethic stands out above all else. In residency, he easily worked 100 hour weeks, and yet Roman and I always remained a priority. Regardless of how long his day is, Chris turns on Dad Mode from the moment he walks through the front door. His love for us is apparent in everything he does - he is proud to provide a good life for his family and yet is a humble and loving father and husband. I absolutely love the fact that, for Chris, everything is “figure-outable,” or at least YouTube-able. There is literally nothing that I’ve ever presented to him that he couldn’t fix, renovate, or build from scratch. He loves woodworking and actually designed and built most of the furniture in our home - everything from our beds to our coffee table!
There is nothing that Chris loves in this life more than being a dad. When our son walks in the room, Chris’ whole world stops spinning and his sole focus is Roman. Seeing their bond grow over time has truly been the greatest blessing. Roman loves his dad so deeply and clearly sees him as the fun parent (which he absolutely is!). It’s unanimous among the cousins as well - Chris is the fun uncle who will get on the floor and be silly with them! Chris’ love for God is apparent in the immense patience and calm he brings to his parenting style. I am so grateful for him and the life we have built - I truly would never want to picture a life without him. We’ve walked through many messy seasons of life together, but we've always stood by each other and emerged stronger. He is our constant, and when he gets home, our world is whole again. - Bailey
Our Community
We live near the beach in Virginia, which we love for so many reasons. One reason we love living here is the sheer number of things there are to do with kids. From the children’s museum and the battleship to the local petting zoo, the actual zoo, the aquarium, the water park, our neighborhood pool, and Roman’s personal favorite - Skyzone, you can find us on an outing almost daily. We have made so many memories on these outings and it’s been so special to see Roman grow up over the years visiting these now familiar places. We also love that because of the large military installations, this area is truly a melting pot of cultures, stories, and ways of life. While we were brought to this area by the military, it now has our hearts forever.
We live in a family-friendly neighborhood, complete with a neighborhood pool and playground. Inside our home, on any given day, our home smells like fresh baked bread and cookies. Admittedly there are usually warm cookies. Our house backs up to the water, so our yard usually sounds like birds chirping and frogs croaking. If the sun is still up when Chris gets off work, you can find us packing a picnic dinner and taking the boat out for a quick ride. We planted apple trees and blueberry and blackberry bushes, and we are excited to expand our garden in future years!
We are dog lovers through and through. We have two dogs, Libby and Boone. Bailey rescued Libby before meeting Chris. She was the first baby of the family and still expects to be treated as such. She’s a terrier/beagle/Yorkie mix who literally looks like none of the above. Her favorite pastimes are barking at squirrels and launching herself off the dock into the marsh, thus requiring a bath. While Chris is a self-proclaimed “big dog” lover, she has wiggled her way into his heart. Boone is a rescued Labradoodle but this had to be jokingly confirmed via DNA test because he absolutely does not look like a Labradoodle. We obviously love him even more for it. He’s an anxious, goofy guy who will back right on up and demand hip scratches. He sleeps on the couch on his back like a cockroach, which is extra hysterical given the length of his legs.

Chris and Bailey are such wonderfully kind-hearted, nurturing and selfless parents. They have created a home rooted in faith and God’s love, where children feel valued, safe, and deeply loved. They cherish and celebrate the little moments, and create a childhood filled with wonder. Our girls are so blessed to have them as aunt and uncle.
Their family has been a constant source of love, warmth, and security in our lives since the moment we met. As my child’s godparents, they embody the consistency and nurturing spirit every child deserves. I know their home will be filled with unconditional love, laughter, and a deep sense of belonging for any child who enters their lives.
Chris, Bailey, and Roman are a faith-rooted family who cherish their life together. They are deeply committed to family, love their son wholeheartedly, and hope to welcome another child into home filled with faith love, joy, stability, and unconditional support.

Quick Facts
Roman is three years old, and he is truly the sweetest and most easy-going guy. He’s reserved in new situations but has quite the goofy little personality when he is comfortable and opens up! His third birthday was Frog and Toad themed, if that gives you insight into his old soul personality. He also loves sports, specifically baseball, and we plan on signing him up for tee ball, which we think will be just his speed. His favorite pastime is playing guitar with his Poppi, Bailey’s dad! We think he will be an incredible older sibling because he is very caring and gentle and he loves helping in ways big and small. We have friends with babies and Roman has a younger cousin, and everyone always shares that Roman is the most trustworthy and loving little toddler!
In the spring of 2025, we scoured Facebook Marketplace for a pull-behind camper to renovate. We loved the idea of our kids growing up traveling and exploring the country, and by renovating a camper we could bring the dogs along with us. We found the nastiest abandoned camper available that had good bones and spent the entire spring and summer completely gutting it and rebuilding it. We learned a lot of skills along the way, and it was so special to make something so uniquely ours! We took it on a maiden voyage to Florida for Roman’s second birthday and it was the most incredible trip. We were so giddy not only having so much fun as a family on that trip, but knowing this was just the first of so many adventures in our family camper, and the thought of our kids, once grown, having our little family camper - that we worked so hard to bring to life - in their memories, just warms our hearts. We are always planning our next trip!
We met on a dating app while Bailey was working in North Carolina and Chris was stationed in Virginia. We never actually met in-person before Chris deployed. We talked every chance we could through text, email, and occasionally on the ship phone (which really just sounds like you’re screaming into a tunnel). We all but sent carrier pigeons for five months as we got to know each other. While it was an unconventional start to our relationship, we wouldn’t change a moment of it because we formed such a solid foundation during that time. By the time we finally met in December, we knew we were meeting up with our forever person.
If the water is glass and the sun is up - you’d better believe we are spontaneously hopping on our boat and eating dinner out on the river! Roman loves to steer and his favorite spot to visit is a lighthouse that is the minutes from our dock.
Our favorite vacation spot is the North Carolina mountains!
